I never thought the process of mental health/ trauma therapy was so helpful until I started sessions with Joy. During our first session we instantly clicked as she was so easy to open up to and be myself with. I always felt comfortable and never judged during our sessions. Joy is an incredible therapist. She listens patiently to all my updates and rambles. She gives insightful advice and asks questions that make me look inward and find the answer myself instead of giving me the easy way out. She shares new meditation prompts each session so that I have a big selection of prompts to choose from and experiment with to see what suits me the best. Creating small, manageable and realistic goals each session has been a game changer for me. It keeps me occupied until the next session and I have someone to keep me accountable so I’m much more likely to try and achieve my goals. Even when I’m struggling and haven’t tried any of the goals I’ve set, Joy would still be super supportive and non judgmental. We work through what’s been going on, what worked and didn’t and start over with realistic goals. I know many people have spent months and even years finding the right therapist but I found my right match the first time and I’m forever grateful for that.

Alexis has a profound understanding of trauma and healing. She is compassionate and gentle when I am struggling being vulnerable. Her approach is nurturing and safe, allowing me to get to my deep rooted issues. I leave our sessions feeling heard and seen.

I have been seeing Lea Joy for almost a year and she has really and truly helped me in my healing journey. She understands my cultural struggles and provides me with the tools i need to work on for a healthy mindset balance to better how i feel about myself.
